Product Care FAQs
Yes, we recommend washing E-Cloth products prior to first use. Colors may run, so we suggest washing items separately.
You may use any type of laundry detergent to clean your E-Cloth products. Avoid the use of combo products that include the use of fabric softener with the detergent.
We recommend using a small amount of detergent. If you're just washing a few E-Cloth products, use about 1 to 2 teaspoons of detergent.
If you're washing E-Cloth products with other laundry items, please refer to the guidelines for your specific detergent.
It is the tiny voids within and between the microfibres that make E-Cloth products work so darn well. It is those voids that attract dirt, grime - you know, the yucky stuff. Fabric softener and dryer sheets are designed to leave "gunk" (i.e. - chemicals!) behind on fabrics. This "gunk" clogs those voids and blocks the fibres from pick up duty.
Excessive use of bleach can destroy the fibres of the cloth, rendering them damaged and irreparable. Since the power of E-Cloth is in its premium fibres, the performance of the product is dependent on their integrity and fortitude.
Most E-Cloth products can be washed the same way! Use a small amount of detergent and avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets.
Dusting products should be washed using cold water and hung to dry.
The Glass & Polishing Cloth can be washed just like most other E-Cloth products. Use a small amount of detergent and avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets. You may tumble dry or air dry the cloth. If air drying, avoid placing the cloth near direct heat.
You may find that the Glass & Polishing Cloths may not need to be laundered as often as other E-Cloth products, especially our cleaning cloths. This is totally fine. Since this cloth is commonly used as the last step in a cleaning routine, it may stay fresher for longer.
The 2-in-1 Extendable Duster can be cleaned by hand or in the washing machine.
You may use a handheld vacuum or vacuum hose to clear away most of the loose dust collected on the duster head. Then, rinse the duster in the sink with cool or warm water, and hang it to dry. If you notice that there’s still grime collected on the duster head after rinsing, you can use a little bit of hand soap to wash the duster.
Or, the duster head can also be machine washed if needed. Remove it from the small (handheld) handle by pressing and holding in the small grey button found right by the duster head (this is NOT the same ‘E’ button located right by the pivot joint; this button is located on the opposite side of the handle). Just press and hold the grey button while gently pulling the duster head off the handle. You can then place the entire duster head in the washing machine; feel free to use a small amount of detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets, and keep in mind that our duster may perform better when air dried.
Dusting cloths and duster heads can be laundered using a small amount of detergent and no bleach, fabric softeners, or dryer sheets. These items may perform better if air dried; when air drying, make sure to keep them away from direct heat.
Hot water works best to remove all the grime from the cloths, but you can use warm or even cold water, if you prefer.
Our dusting products may benefit from cooler temperatures, and our 2-in-1 Extendable in particular should be washed in cold water.
Most E-Cloth products should be laundered about once per week, though this recommendation may vary depending on what and how often you clean with E-Cloth.
Our Glass & Polishing Cloth, since it is most commonly used as a finishing cloth, may not need to be laundered as often as other items.
Our mop heads may need to be laundered after a single mopping session, depending on the size of your household and how often you mop.
Yes, you can safely wash E-Cloth products with other laundry items, including towels or clothing.
Either way works! Our dusting products tend to perform better when air dried. If air drying, make sure to keep the cloths away from direct heat.
Fear not! Staining will not affect cleaning performance, so you can safely keep using the product.
To help remove stains, boil the product in water for up to 10 minutes. You can also rub a small amount of dish soap, stain remover, and/or baking soda into the stain and let it sit for a few minutes, then wash according to the normal wash instructions.
Fear not! Sometimes grease or odours may linger on the cloth after very grimy cleaning sessions. When this happens, boil the cloth(s) in water for up to 10 minutes, then launder using hot water and a small amount of detergent. As always, avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets.
